On
Tuesday, December 5th, the Patient Advisory Group actively participated in an
insightful workshop on artificial intelligence (AI) led by Dipak Kalra, President of The European
Institute for Innovation Through Health Data, and Luka Poslon from the Digital
Healthcare Ethics Laboratory (Digit-HeaL) at the Catholic University of
Croatia.
The
primary objective of this workshop was to discuss key aspects of AI, with a
focus on explainability, and explore the patients’ needs to contribute to the
ongoing development.
Throughout
the workshop, participants actively shared experiences and practical examples,
discussing the importance of explainability in AI systems within the healthcare
context. With their expertise, Dipak Kalra and Luka Poslon contributed to a
deeper understanding of how AI can serve patients and physicians.
Given the complexity of the
topic, the workshop will continue during
the next workshop.
